Fuchi, almost didnt recognise you with that name...I am going to buy a P-200 Cyrix chip and MB. What is the difference btw MTECH and Gigabyte MBs? Also found Vextrec MB which is the only one of the three field tested by Cyrix for P-200 CPU. Have you heard of them? Will try to find on Web. Also got this from gigabyte:Many customers purchase motherboards and CPUs from us with the intention of overclocking.
While we have no objection to this personally, we cannot officially condone this action. While
there are many people who successfully overclock their systems, there are also those who have
damaged components in the effort.
In some cases, those who have damaged their components, or who are simply unable to get their
systems to function properly at the higher bus speeds, have called to report that their products are
defective, and demand replacement product. Usually upon receipt of the 'defective' product we
find that the motherboard had been overclocked to as high as 83MHz. When run at 'normal' bus
speeds of 66MHz, the problem cannot be reproduced.
To this point, we have replaced these products without any restocking fee, however this practice
seems to be becoming more prevalent recently. Since overclocking is officially frowned upon by
the manufacturers and by us, we must take a somewhat hard line on this.If you purchase a
motherboard, and it performs properly at recommended bus speeds, we will charge our 20%
restocking fee if you wish to return the product because it does not run at the higher bus speeds.
Once a product is opened, we simply cannot (and will not) sell it as new, and in fact we will soon
be offering undamaged, used components for sale at a substantial discount (in most cases). Fuchi, can you answer me before sat. a.m., Im going to the computer show and would like to pick out some accessories for this system. Will definately let you guys know when its up and running...Thanks for the suggestion..GO CYRIX
