surprised that the metals are traveling in tandem with securities and bonds.<<Rather interesting I think this bre-x scandal still has alot to do with it[do you hearthe latest rumor that the body is not that of the geologist].Also I think that rising interest rates make the dollar stronger hence gold cheaper.I also think that a balanced budget would be bullish for gold, interest rates would drop and the dollar would weaken. I also guess it would be deterimed by the definition of a "balanced budget".I also could be totally full of crap.
