I'll hunt down the SynerJ thing. I downloaded and installed the Forte Community beta and the current JVM yesterday. The HW requirement is "serious workstation" though. When they start calling for 200+mhz and 128mb RAM to run a Java development tool, I stop thinking in terms of PCs. I'm thinkin' Ultra 10. :)

Anyway, it was too much for my little legacy Pentium whatever, but what from what I saw and read, NetBeans is COOL. They should be able to pull more than several Linux programmers into Java development with this. IMO

BTW Thomas, do YOU know what the architectural issue is that Linux has that makes it a less than perfect Java platform? I'm trying to figure out what Gosling meant in an interview I read awhile back when he spoke to Linux (kernel) development having chosen a wrong path early on.
