R.M.C. Looks like I have started a feeding frenzy here!!
There was one promoter a few years ago who promoted a Shining Tree(near Kirkland Lake, Ontario) penny stock to some gullible europeans all the way to $42 US$ per share before the crash.
He printed fake stock certs and many other frauds. One of his lines about the property was "there was so much gold in the core that you could bend it". I won't say his name, but some of the old timers might recognize the MO. He ended up in jail, and a brokerage was bankrupted with the fall out. It was in the mid 70's. He obviously did not know, nor did the suckers, that a large mass of a ductile metal like gold would soon foul the diamonds and you would stop cutting, and just have a bad bearing. Large masses of native copper have this effect, but it is rare. I have never heard of gold fouling.
Don't we wish there were lumps too big to enter the 1" core.
