Steve, be careful with ILNK. I think it's a scam of a company. What you describe as "fabulous new telecommunications technology" is nothing other than internet telephony. About a year and a half ago there were several small companies selling internet telephony software. It sounded like a good idea, and the stocks soared. But, the masses never bought the products, and the stocks crashed. I think the nail in the coffin was when Intel released free internet telephony software. How can ILNK compete against a free product? As another example, look at today's news, attached. Lucent, the single major telephone equipment company offers the same product as ILNK. _________________

Dow Jones News Services
WARREN, N.J. -- ICG Communications Inc. (ICGX) will become one of four companies to test Lucent Technologies Inc.'s (LU) Internet Telephony Server SP, a product designed to enable calls over the Internet using ordinary phones or fax machines.
In a press release Wednesday, Lucent said ICG will use the telephony server in internal trials this summer. Other companies signing up to try the system are MCI communications Corp. (MCIC), France Telecom and GTE Corp. (GTE).
The telephony server is marketed as an alternative to long-distance calling for local and inter-exchange carriers, Internet service providers, cable companies and competitive access providers.
ICG is a local exchange carrier. |
