I think you're the guy for this question.(someone on here is the right guy.. can't remember for sure) Anyway someone asked me the other day why the british pound was worth more than the US dollar. I told him he was comparing apples to oranges.. don't think I convinced him though. It's interesting how much people look at those exchange rates. I remember living in Germany at how much national pride there was as the mark appreciated against the dollar. It all seemed weird to me as it is almost all black smoke and manipulation.
Anyway I got to thinking about what is the "float" of the US dollar? How many of them are there out there? How many more of them are there now, than there were 50 years ago? 10 years ago? Since we're not based on anything solid anymore... scary thought!-g-

Any thoughts appreciated.
