I reduced my position in LUCENT today by 80%...I caught it at 75 7/8 ... around 4:00 PM I saw that it closed at 75 1/5 ... and then when I came on here I saw that the last trade sometime after 6:00 PM had LU @ 74 1/4. More nibbling again!

I wish I would have made my move on Monday but I was optimistic and thought that maybe what I expected would happen again wouldn't happen...that the stock was going to get nibbled at each day until I found myself looking at something like 68 or 69 bucks a share again.

I'll wait and get back in again at a later date because I think it will be moving sideways and slightly down for a while again. That seems to be the Modus Operandi with this stock all year long.

The quick run up back in July then down a blast...then sideways within a certain range...then up quickly again like this last time, moving from 56 3/8 to 80 3/8 in 22 trading days, a rise of 42.8%, using the announcement about optics data transmission as the excuse...now the slow sell-off again. I'm concerned because I don't know if it will go down like in the past or move sideways...or possibly go up again. I would prefer the stock to grow gradually instead of all this whiplash.

Money smarter than mine is driving this stock and I'm tired of being one of those sitting on the sidelines so I've grabbed a few bucks for the time being and I'll just watch, something I can do because most of the LUCENT I was holding was in my 401K which allows me to move out without a tax consequence to something safer for a while. Being retired and having so much of my 401K in stock is very risky for me. Most of you people in here appear to have a long way to go and can afford the gamble. I hope I'm smart enough to know when to get back in again! I've done okay with this stock.
