Not that off-the-top-of-my-head I know what the side-effects of Methotrexate are exactly and if any but, I do know it is a folic-acid antagonist. Clinically, there would be consequences to this I'm sure. These might include Megaloblastic anemia. I believe that, to avoid this, leucovorin (folinic acid) must be given in association with Methotrexate. I am not sure that women who or pregnant or even at any risk of becoming so without knowing it, may be inappropriate candidates for Methotrexate therapies? (ie: because of possibility of neural tube defects) I think I have some reading to do on this matter.
