d.,

This is a bit OT. You may want to post additional items to the QCharts topic. But, since there's a lot of QCharts users, here's what I do. (Try this Friday morning in the pre-market so that you can immediately see the significance.)

** Set up two Quote Sheets:
1. Show Toolbar - First, under the menu /View ensure that the "Toolbar" item is checked and that you have the toolbar displayed that includes the chart, "T+S", etc buttons.

2. Create quote sheet - Click on the double-quote button on the toolbar to create a quote sheet. Now click it again to create a second quote sheet.

3. Reduce size - Reduce the size of the sheets to some small manageable size. Mine are about 1" wide by 2" tall.

4. Set title to Nasdaq - On the first quote sheet, right-Click anywhere in gray background. (Do NOT right-click on a column header.) Select the menu item /Edit/Title (Edit, then Title) and enter "Nasdaq".

5. Set title to Island - Repeat the process on the second sheet and enter the title, "Island".

6. Show only Symbol and Last - Now, look at the column headers on each sheet. I recommend reducing the columns to only two - "Symbol" and "Last" (Last Price). Delete the columns by right-clicking on the *column header* and select "Delete". If Symbol or Last are not displayed, right-click on the appropriate column header and select /Info/Symbol for Symbol. Select /Value/Last for Last.

7. Save Workspace - Select /File/Save Workspace or Ctrl+S to save the workspace.

** Enter The Symbols - For each symbol that you want to track:

1. Enter Nasdaq Symbol - In the "Nasdaq" quote sheet, click on an open cell in the Symbol column and enter the standard symbol. E.g., enter "MSFT". The standard symbol will appear in the cell.

2. Enter Island Symbol - In the "Island" quote sheet, repeat the process, BUT... Enter, "ISLD:<symbol>". E.g., enter "ISLD:MSFT".

In the pre-market, the "Nasdaq" quote sheet the last price will be the closing price yesterday. By contrast, the "Island" quotesheet will display the trade price of the last Island trade (which probably occurred in the last few seconds).

So what does this give us?

First, by putting the quote sheets side-by-side and entering the symbols in rows that are lined up, you can immediately see the gap between yesterdays closing and the current trade price of the stock.

Second, you have a list of stocks to click on and chart quickly. Click the Nasdaq quote sheet to chart the trading history. Click the Island quote sheet to chart the pre-market trades.

Next morning, clear out the symbols and enter new ones.

I'm coding my scanner to track pre-market trades. Until that's finished, this solution is simple and effective. That's why I like it.

Regards,

Dan.
