Please see: theregister.co.uk

For a whole slew of really bad news for inteL.

"inteL loses big industry face to AMD over Coppermine"
see: "AMD has 750MHz parts at .18 micron. Intel has so few 733MHz parts at .18 micron that none of the major PC vendors can introduce machines based on it for a fair while yet."

"inteL trashes huge Gateway rebate scheme"

"AMD wins major battle in inteL price war"
see: "There will be no price reductions on existing Athlon processors when AMD introduces its 750MHz microprocessor next Monday, sources only a cigarette packet away from the company said today."

"inteL to demo 1GHz IA-32 chip Feb 2000"
see: "AMD will beat them to the gun. Sources close to the company say that it will be able to launch a 1GHz Athlon in January, if it so chooses. "

"AMD wins must shiver inteL's timbers"

and not least (but far more subtle) "AMD patents chip design..."

It would appear that the emperoR has no clothes and only the emperoR, some analysts, and, perhaps, pauL do not know it.

Regards and happy Thanksgiving,

DARBES
