And of course the most formidable of all the "professional shorts" are the market makers themselves who can short at will. Retail chumps like us might be short 1000 or 5000 and be real proud of themselves. Can you imagine any market maker intentionally carrying a long position in this stock? Much of the astounding volume yesterday wasn't just churning but was the creation of an artificial float by shorting market makers, especially above 9. And if there is any gap up on Friday (which is now becoming more and more doubtful) all market makers will short into every bid buyers make for this stock. When the retail demand is exhausted they will step back and with the 100 share minimum responsibility on their bid let the market find its own equilibrium as xbrent mentioned. Any attempt by the original underwriter to support it will be overwhelmed. It is not a pretty sight when thousands of momentum players discover they can't get out as quickly and easily as they got in. Any short squeeze will be minor and is probably over already. There will be a lot of indigestion suffered on Friday.

Best,
Jimmy Liberato
