JAPG -
A very good summary. We have conflicting information at present. One source, a prominant Canadian newspaper, says negotiations with Cisco are happening now.

OTOH, Wi-LAN issues an invitation to an OFDM meeting, obviously with the purpose of suggesting a non-Cisco coalition. If Wi-LAN is negotiating with Cisco, is this a negotiating ploy? Why bother? Cisco knows that's what will happen if there is no agreement.

As for the WOFDM/VOFDM debate, I think most of us are in the dark - the relative merits, especially after implementation, are unknown to lay persons like myself, except for a vague understanding.

And who's negotiating with whom? Is it really Philips negotiating with Cisco thru Wi-LAN? Who has the votes?

Well, it certainly isn't boring!

Regards,
Jim
