Post from Duncan Stewart found on Yahoo FWIW:

Dear Securities PI:

I've already written a post on my behaviour re: Corel. I do not say "buy" when I am selling (or vice versa). But I do comment in the press on stocks that I have sold (or bought) and while sometimes I am wrong, I'm not doing it to manipulate the market. My views are given in all honesty and out of nothing more than a desire for everybody (not just multibillion dollar institutions) to have some insight into the decisionmaking process of one mutual fund manager.

On Newbridge, I do own a substantial position. I picked the stock up at about $20 Canadian, BECAUSE I believed then (and still do) that it will get taken out between $42 and $50 Cdn per share. For me to say anything else to the press would actually make me a two-faced lying pile of excrement.(BTW, name calling is totally inappropriate...especially given that you were right about Corel, I was wrong...AND ADMITTED SO PUBLICLY!)

I have my reasons why I believe that NNC will get bought, and they have not decreased in number or intensity but have increased. I have not sold any Newbridge, but added to it. if I were as evil as you suggest, I would be talking up the takeover while selling into this strength (I am up 75% in a couple of weeks.)

I love these message boards...they are the democratization of information within an industry that has too long been the playground of a privileged elite. The dialogue is fantastic...if you can ignore the hysteria, emotion and sometimes unstated conflicts of interest.

BTW: are there any other money managers out there who are willing to share information with retail investors or who contribute to these boards without hiding behind a nom de keyboard
