The hardest and most critical thing about trading (as opposed to investing in) a stock is to decide when to sell. That is when we tell ourselves that enough is enough, whether it is a gain or a loss. That is why I appreciate the negative posts as well as the positive ones. That is also why I welcomed the opening of this thread on the Novell board. Yes there were some interesting discussion about VARs and there impact on Novell's bottom line. I am however disappointed from the fact that some posts are here that clearly do not belong such as the one about AAPL. I waisted my time reading this to find anything about Novell. All I found is a story about Microsofts CEO as if the real reason this board was created in the first place: to worship a person! I also find it to be a cheap trick when degrading comments are inserted at will amid text that has nothing to do with Novell. Of course, like everybody is saying, the most interesting posts are the one by Erick S. They are so deep and well researched that sometimes I have doubt that he is doing this for free. His posts are so professional that he even tried to adress the negative along with the positive, thereby inspiring more confidence in what he writes. Nobody is perfect, however, and I do have some criticism when I read Erick's posts. For instance he was predicting a positive earning surprise this quarter. He even kept mentioning 6 cents. I would have been nice and generous of him if he explains what was wrong with his prediction. Also, I thought, it sounded odd when he says that Novell's earnings were not much below expectations. Whose expectations, his??? Ghassan. P.S. I am still out of NOVL but I am getting ready to take a position -- one way or the other.
