Richard: IMO, the general public is so ignorant (uninformed) as to what is happening with the POG, the Fed has little concern about any kind of retribution. The stock market, however, is another story. A loss of control by the Fed which results in a market crash will take main street with it this time due to the large percentage of US citizens invested in a market they believe can never go down for more than a few days. That will have enormous political and social consequences.
