Ah, the BID board, one I started because it was a perfect buy and hold investment.
It's been a long while since I posted to this board, but I've been working on our Net startup online brokerage. Our site, buyandhold.com is finally open for business. I'm one of the co-founders, and a long-time SI poster from the MO, LOR, ENE and BID message boards. We've been working on this in secret for two years, and are finally open for business! It is so exciting. We consider ourselves the online broker for long-term investors.
We allow people to open an account and make investments with as little as $20, that's it, so you can buy fractional shares. We charge a flat fee of $2.99 per order. We provide the ability to set up regular investments (weekly, monthly or quarterly). We have over 1,200 stocks (including MO, MSFT, AOL, CSCO, NASDAQ 100, Diamonds, and tons of Blue Chips).
There are competing services that I'm sure will be terrific, but we're open now, so feel free to take a look and let us know what you think.
