Glad the onions were a hit. They are an essential part of feasting at Chez Blue ~ Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Easter. We were finally done cooking at about 5 p.m., and the tables were spread with cloths and then covered with serving dishes. The regular dining room table was supplemented by a 6 foot folding table, office-type, and we put them in a T-formation. It was us four, and my mother and Chris' brother, Stan. The kids actually took their time eating for a change, so the meal lasted about 30 minutes, rather than the usual 15, before they left, and then the adults sat around for another half hour, and then we cleared the table and I put away the food and wiped surfaces, and Chris loaded the dishwasher. Then I sat on a sofa in the living room and drank margaritas and read the newspaper while everyone else sat around the dining room table and played poker. I think the highlight of the evening was when three people, Chris, Stan and Ben, got a full house without wild cards, Ben's hand won as it was jack-high. I enjoyed myself very much, and everyone else seemed to, as well.
