Hi Crusader:

Regarding the article you posted, it is useful
to keep in mind that T's cable strategy leaves
it with 2 holes which need to be plugged. The
first hole is access to residential customers who
are not covered by its cable assets (TCI, MediaOne)
or cable deals with Time Warner... This is what
Project Angel addresses.

The other big hole is access to businesses. One
should always keep in mind that more than 50%
of all telco dollars are spent by businesses, not
households. This is an area where T is weak. It acquired
Teleport, which is a fiber-based CLEC. Teleport had
a large 38GHz footprint through Biztel. Exploiting
these licenses will give T a better presence in the
medium to small business market. Could be good for
NTRO given the T-LU bloodlines.

There has also been substantial speculation that TGNT
was built to be sold. T would a likely buyer given the
Malone stake, not to speak of Mandl's past affiliation.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
