Red Velevet Cake--- a big favorite in Virginia. With a cream cheese frosting. One summer I was living in an apartment with some college friends and for some reason that completely escapes me now, half of the football team was there. And I was waxing on about red velvet cake and decided to make one for them. But the store I ran to only had green food coloring. So I made green velvet cake. The next day several of the guys called me to say that something very strange had happened to their bowels in the digestion of this green confection. And that it was very scary.
