I couldn't pretend to understand the differences in the technologies but the technology people who I use as a resource say that ObjectStores (ODI) scales well and Versant doesn't although they do admit that Versant does work well enough for small and medium size applications.

I have learned not to rely on the presence of an IBM partnership to validate the market potential of a product. I am aware of many IBM partnerships with companies that have not been able to capitalize on this partnership and capture any significant share of a market.

Can you please be more specific as to why VSNT"s competitive position is such that it should trade at a premium to ODIS?
