64 bit OS's arround the corner ???, I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. wouldn't a 64 bit CPU be handy for a 64 bit OS. I am not sure of the technical details here, but it makes sence to me.

Also you might take note that 64mb parts will be avalible int 1997 2nd half. less that 18 months away. 64mb that is 8MB in one chip. I figure at the current rate, a 16mb chip will be at about $ 6 in about 12 -18 months. maby only 6.

that will make a 8 64mb chip simm 8 X 25 (4x6 plus a little to grow on) = $200

that is 200 for 64 MB of RAM on 1 simm.

Now how fast did you say that demand is going to grow ???

I don't know your numbers, but that supply demand thing will destroy a few of the smaller DRAM makers.
