Million dollar day for COOL from today's New York Times, National/NY section

At Outpost.com, a supplier of high-end high technology gifts, big sellers included DVD players and flat-screen computer monitors. "It is very darn good this week," said Bob Bowman, Outpost's chief executive. "We already have orders exceeding last year. We will do north of a million today."

Consumers were drawn, he said, by the offer of free overnight shipping and a promotion, which rewarded a shopper every 15 minutes with a gift appropriate for cyber-surfing, like a bathrobe and a pretzel-popcorn snack.
