grogger you may or may not know I am quite bearish on pcln, so take my coments with a grain of salt! (I am not short it.)

I cannot imagine them becoming profitable anytime soon, and even if they do, there will be so many shares out by then that the eps will be tiny.

I have no projection on the stock price, but the recent announcements have not seemed to help the stock other than quick runs for a few days followed by fall backs to previous levels. Maybe there is insider selling going on when it goes up on news. Just a possibility.

I think they'll always have to advertise, but I do think they have a huge brand name, and so maybe you are correct- maybe they can reduce some of their ad spending.

By the way there is a theory re ecommerce co's that some of them will fold by the Spring if they do not come out # 1 or 2 in their category for this holiday season. (I am not talking about pcln, btw.) So there is a huge push on to go for broke and advertise like crazy now because for many of the 2nd and 3rd tier ecommerce co's, this is do or die time. Should be mighty interesting. Many broadcast companies, esp radio companies, have been beneficiaries of this need to advertise. Some like CCU have skyrocketed and the ecommerce advertising is one reason for it.
