The three launches of CDRD were originally scheduled on 01/17/00, march and may. CDRD said a few weeks ago that the first launch might
be delayed, but this will not affect the service launch in Q4/00.

CDRD already has chanched the rocket from an Ariane to the Proton
in spring 99 because a Proton would be the better vehicle to get
the sats into an elliptical orbit. (This change cost them about
$25 million). The did this change because they originally planed
two GEOs those days and then Loral suggested them to take 3 elliptical
orbits instead because of a better angle between the car and the
sats, so they need much less repeaters.

I do not think that another changes of the rocket is planed.
