seppo, Excellent point about water vapor, guess it doesn't sell papers or elect presidents though VBG! Harold S get credit for "turning me on" to this great site for weather. Dr. Dewpoint (what a corny name though!) does a good job of explaining the chances for a cold winter in a fairly entertaining down to earth way. In short, his "indicators" for a cold winter early are two to one, for in favor of a cold late winter are 3 to 0. Some nice NAO information here also. intellicast.com Best Regards, Roebear
