Just quoting Magid, but I can make some guesses. One interesting tidbit is that the basic Works still has a simplified word processor, but if you get Works Suite you get Word, whether you like it or not! So much for staying simple! As for the bulk, I don't know that I am surprised. I'll bet that if one looked through what got installed one would find a ton of things that could be deleted and one would never miss them and, which may not even show up as options on the custom/expert install.

But, hey, it just reminds me of a little piece in ComputerWorld some months back where they had a little table of the number of lines of code in various operating systems. Unix was 6-10 MLOC. NT4.0 was 15 MLOC. W2K is 35-40 MLOC. I sure don't think that's because it is proportionally more functional!
