Rande,
What do you think of Aether Systems?
I like it because they are 1/3 owners of Omnisky, the company that will be one of the first wireless ISPs, bringing the internet to the Palm Pilot.
They have already established themselves as the leader in bringing wireless market data and trading capabilities to brokerage customers, and have deals with SCH, MER, Discovery, NDB and some others.
They are also heavily involved in bringing wireless applications to health care and a myriad of other industries.
It might seem you are "late to the party" as the stock is up 60% in thirty days, but I just added to my original position at 80 and 72 on it's way down from a high around 90. I was lucky enough to buy my first batch at 43 1/8.
Usually I get nervous when a big winner starts retracing and this is the first time I have added to a position. Insiders are buying too, usually a good sign, and unusual for such a new offering. (I could be wrong about it being unusual)
Have you looked at AETH? Is my confidence in AETH unfounded, as always any insights would be appreciated.
Also, not much talk here about ADSX, but it seems the hype is really getting thick. I mentioned it here in a post to carpe last week. It's already doubled since I bought it, unfortunately I did not buy very much. Should be interesting on Monday. I like the company, but not the hype surrounding the stock, as it is being touted everywhere I look.
Finally, if you get a chance, look at MTEK, something about natural gas monitoring devices for commercial users such as hotels and property managers. Not very exciting, but they are doing an internet venture with Scient that looks promising. The financials are solid too, price/sales of only .9. Sales are $21 million and the market cap is less than $20 million. Only 1.7 million in the float according to Yahoo. I doubt it will fly unless the internet aspect of the business is as promising as the management of Scient and MTEK think, but if it is I see good things happening. Anyway, take a look, I bought some at 5 1/4 a couple of weeks ago.
TIA
