Hi Scot:

Put me in that camp with those who are exuberant. My reasons follow:

1. Breakout of 3 year downtrend confirmed, imho, on Friday.
2. Breaking of $1 billion dollar barrier a possibility for 99Q4 and with that profitability.
3. Flash sold out for Q4 and exponential growth anticipated in Y2000.
4. Athlon is "the better mousetrap at the better price" with shipments of possibly 1.5 million by Dec. 31/99 from a standing start in Augusst...Wow!
5. Ben Anixter's comment on Nov. 11, not even half way through 99Q4, that AMD revenues would "comfortably" exceed $800 million (i.e 15% qtr to qtr increase). (Need some pretty darn strong indicators prior to Nov. 11 to risk making such a statement). (Do you suppose "comfortably" could mean $200 million?)
6. IBM now advertising the Accelerator with the catchy slogan... 0 to 700MHz in...My local IBM outlet has been selling 650's briskly and were anxiously awaiting the 700 when I spoke with them a week ago.
7. GTW rumoured endorsement of the 750 MHz tomorrow.

Hard not to be exuberant with all these pieces falling into place. At $27.75, one can make a strong case that AMD is significantly undervalued. My exuberance stems from the notion that this disequilibrium between AMD share price and fundamental strength is about to be disturbed by a significant upward price spiral in the very near term. All technical indicators support an imminent revaluation in AMD price...Yes I am exuberant with respect to such an occurrence unfolding, beginning this week!
