Happy to contribute when I can.

I don't claim any expertise in this subject area, I just believe that people are willing to pay more for increased quality, but the dropoff can be sharp, especially if the low and medium product quality is good now and increasing at a rapid pace, which is what is happening in this market.

The CMOS technology, which looks certain to quickly replace CCDs, in the hands of both Photobit and NSM (thanks right back at you for that) , will raise the bar so far and so fast that the market for Foveon products will get very small and may never let them become cheap enough to appeal to the general market.
