I just got thru reading parts of "A Random Walk Down Wall St." and one thought I came away with, other than the futility of using ANY sort of analysis, fundamental or tecnical to predict the future value of stocks was
buy a stock with sound fundamentals which is also one which investors want to build "castles in the air" on, the latter phrase being that of John Maynard Keynes.
Right now, it seems, QCOM, which is a sound company, and soon to have more cash for expansion, is also a company which investors can DREAM CASTLES IN THE SKY about...
the next big protmoter of change in technology. the once in a lifetime investmtent, as Voltaire puts it.
Dell once had that quality about it but now it seems to lack it. it is just an efficient box-maker. The dreamers have a new vision.
What can be wrong with following Keynes' advice?
