Here's a clue: the Thompson's Institutional Investor website is one of the biggest con games on wall street. It doesnt show actual purchases or sales, but merely "interest expressed" by various brokers and dealers.

90% of the time that "interest" never translates to an actual order. In fact, every seasoned player on wall street will tell you that it is used only to fool suckers into buying or selling ahead of a "perceived" big order.

Dealers regularly place a big "buy" interest in the system when they are secretly dumping shares in the background, and vice versa when they want to buy shares..
