Darlene, there are still some systems working today that were designed around the two physical cable model. Those are older generation systems that were 'fixed' by the addition of the second cable to allow greater spectrum and additional services in lieu of a full upgrade to today's HFC design. Newer HFC designs use only one coaxial cable drop from the pole into the residence, and these are met by a fiber node upstream which takes them to the head end. If you have two cables coming into your home, it might very well be slated for an upgrade to a single cable system design, soon. Peerhaps one of our resident cable knowledgeables might be able to tell us what they were called, provide us with a time line describing when those systems were put in, and what they were (and apparently, still are) capable of supporting.
