Michael,

HA! Well in sense you are right. The stock is going up on speculation that the PALM IPO will be a huge success.. which if we use recent IPO's as a baramoter isn't a strech. However, COMS has yet to show that they have turned around. The things they've done right are completly unrelated to their networking business. They've made some good investments, and they're spinning off PALM. Their networking business is still suspect. Without PALM this will become a the greater focus. The real underlying question is are COMS shares merely a means to an end (cheap PALM shares) or are people buying COMS because they think it's turning around. My sense is that it's the former not the latter in which case what is the value of COMS after we get our PALM?

So, the focus of this is MA's position that COMS is a great company and that they are turning around. I hold a differing view that COMS shares will create value due to others speculative plays and the likely hope that PALM will have a good IPO. COMS this time next year is the same or worse as far as market share - a tier two player. JMO.
