If you haven't read ATHM's comments concerning the tracking stock, they stated the action wasn't a prelude to a spin-off for at least several years because tax reasons made that unrealistic. I believe this is a bit of an obfuscation. The taxing consequences evaporate if the tracking and mother stocks diverge sufficiently in price. If the tracking stock falls relative to the mother, then there is a greater incentive to do a spin-off. Would you care to critique my assessment?
