Roy, until I see the deployment of any technology, I don't give it much credence. A good example is Windows CE was supposed to dethrone PalmOS, well you can see that even the might of the Goliath ,MSFT, was humbled by David's 3Com and its' Palm. Yes, 3Com not Palm. It is 3Com,3Com,3Com,3Com and not,not,not, Dubinsky, that should get the credit for the Palm's success. Palm is owned 100% by 3Com and nobody else. This is true, even Gary's dialectical somersaults can't deny this. I have thrown this on his lap on numerous occasions and never heard anyone refute this fact. So it goes, if 3Com can be a vanguard in the Netcentric World and take an unknown company,such as the Palm, from rags to riches, what make him think they can't do this again. Not only did they take the Palm from rags to riches, they succeeded in an area that many respected companies had failed. In my book 3Com gets all the credit for the success of the Palm. For this the company should be showered with accolades. Any company that can do what 3Com has done with the Palm has my faith in what ever their next venture may be. |
