Anybody read "Mutant mice live longer"
Nature Vol 402, 18 Nov--p243, and also
see p309 for the paper We propose
that p66^shc is part of a signal
transduction pathway that regulates
stress apoptotic responses and life
span in mammals.

Caught me eye because three of the proteins
mentioned share a SH2 domain, and in the
news and views article an analogy is made to
p53 (tumor supressor). I generally only
read the weather and climate papers...the
biotech letters fly pretty far over my head,
but do check out page 243 if you subscribe.

When I see SH2 naturally I think of Ariad,
but mainly I wanted to note an interesting
article and this seemed as good a place as
any to park misc. signal transduction stuff.
