Frank, I am thoroughly engrossed in the Mother Earth Mother Board saga.....I had guessed at the political fundamentals already, but the sheer obviousness of the trend post-war for telecom buildout and subsequent market mechanics had escaped me.....now I can fill in my personal experiences with anothers' point of view. I can also relate very well with the installation boys, as I worked in Sumatra for Theiss Petro-sea back in '76&77...this is a real read. Thanks. <<<>>> I am looking for a link or publication that will give me a better grasp of SONET, WDM, DWDM, Self-Healing Ring architecture (which I assume from your posts must incorporate software structure as well)and so on, in the fiber optic universe. O.K, I know that the 3 or 4 letters sort of translate into concepts, but I need a better grasp of the underlying activity represented by the acronyms. Not too techie, but I need to understand better than I do now. Any suggestions for a good read in this area? Much obliged. Martin Thomas
