Greg: The fun part re Cisco "fixed wireless" is that it is "free".

Huh?

That could hurt.

But there is absolutely no indication that the Cisco plan will impact "mobile" use.

The beauty of HDR and IXRTT and 3XRTT is the combination of CDMA mobile with other uses. It is ubiquitous. That is a major plus.

Also remember Cisco works with the Q and US West on a "trial" now underway.

All of this is most interesting.

But the obituary for HDR is a bit premature IMO.

Chaz

PS But "free" is tough to beat as Netscape found out.

The fixed wireless companies selling service now such as WCII, TGNT etc. will find the going difficult. But interestingly these folks do not use CDMA - as Qdog has pointed out many times. Seems like maximum "hurt" will be felt by non CDMA technologies.
