Looks like we are the only two who are following etoys.
but, I found some more news about etoys.
** E-commerce a toy story
Sales of computer software and toys paced the activity of online retailers the week before Thanksgiving, according to a weekly report from Goldman Sachs and PC Data Online. "We have seen a steady increase in e-shopping since summer," said PC Data analyst Cameron Meierhoefer. "But we're still waiting for the magnitude of business that some analysts have predicted. We'll know soon," he told CBS.MarketWatch.com. The latest report showed home Internet shoppers spent $274 million online during the Nov. 15-25 period, and more than 440,000 of these shoppers bought toys online. Toys had the second-largest number of buyers after computer software, which attracted more than 500,000 purchasers. "Nearly one in five people who went to toy sites actually made a purchase," said Cameron Meierhoefer, Internet analyst for PC Data Online. "Apparel, electronics, health and beauty, and sporting goods also showed impressive growth in spending," he said. The weekly report also showed reluctance to buy online line decreasing. A month ago, almost 16 percent of the 2,8910 home-based Web users surveyed said they wouldn't make online purchases because prices were too high. The latest data has the percentage falling to 6.3 percent. |
