Ted, I think the real proof of AMD's profitability will take some time to establish, if it's even possible. If you look back on the last few years, AMD has never had more than two straight quarters of profitability. The last time AMD was "profitable" was Q3 1998 and Q4 1998, before the disasterous Q1 1999 losses. I remember that time well, and AMD felt the need to warn *three times*. I remember there were also a few shareholder suits filed then.

Like I said before, here's a quote from an old manager: "Two data points is a fad; three is a trend." So far, AMD's moments of "profitability" were only fads. Is AMD's current potential for profitability a trend or just another fad? Don't be surprised if many people are doubting AMD; they're just speaking from experience.
