Denis, (and Sid),

Ballard had 164 patents issued or applied for world wide, covering 54 different inventions as of the last quarter. This is why, Sid, I mentioned last week that a couple of things Ballard has going for them that seem to have been overlooked on this site are the proprietory rights and the lead time. While I don't know how many of these patents were joint with DB or anyone else, the numbers seems pretty good to moi.

The participation of the Ballard partner, Johnson Matthey PLC, of the UK seems to have been glossed over as well. They have provided the advanced catalyst technology and manufacturing process for incorporating low catalyst loading into production cells which has contributed in no small measure to achieving the high power density of 28KW/cubic foot, which incidently, exceeds the US DOE goal of 25KW/cubic foot in their "Partnership For A new Generation of Vehicles Program"

Let's keep up the discussion, but as an appeal to all, let's try and see whether Ballard should or should not be bought rather than the disappointing mud slinging over the past week or so.

Cheers, Peter Dumbrille
