Re: Long term view of Intel. I see your point, but you may have missed mine. My point was not that this information was not valid or important. My point was why mention it without explaining it UNLESS you did not want "irrational exhuberance" on the stock price.

Considering how careful Intel was with the rest of their Conferance call, mentioning the margins for the year +/- a few points etc. Then they just laid this number out there, without any time horizon or putting it in perspective regarding Gross Margin Dollars. For example, they could say, "Our model is that for every percentage point decline in margin we will see a pick up in revenue..." OR they could say the lower margin is due to aggressive pricing on new network products which means totally new business...more revenue...more profit.

Do you see my point now?
