Ex,

I just took a quick look at the Microsoft 10K. It appears that based on the total options outstanding, total shares outstanding, and fully diluted earnings per share vs. earnings per share that some of the options are not included in fully diluted. (perhaps out of the money options?)

I also now remember what I was thinking about in terms of vested vs. non-vested options.

In the footnote table where the company tells you what earnings would have been if options were expensed using the Black Scholes model, they only use vested options.
