Albert, Intel does not convert all of their manufacturing capability to the latest fine line lithography process. They leave some factories behind, on one technology old process to manufacture chips that don't need the fastest clock speeds. Examples would be chipsets, embedded micros, flash memory. Hey, those plants are paid for and they are good enough for not so blazing speed technologies. I'm sure AMD is also prudent enough to do this. Don't worry, Intel knows what they're doing.

If you want, you can update Martin who sees this as a 1 - 2 year AMD lead over Intel. Or, let him think that it's true and maybe he'll buy more AMD and short Intel.

On a more amicable note, based on Cyrix's earnings, on top of Intel's and AMD's earnings and forward statements, maybe there is enough business for everyone.

Ciao,
Tony
