That should looked at as positive in my book. Think like this. "We have so many orders, that we need to build more manufacturing." I bet they buy it instead

I agree with that assessment. They can buy with stock. Just ask the shareholders of OCLI. That stock took off upon the acquisition. Smaller companies will want to be taken over by JDS simply because they can get a premium on their current price and then ride out further gains on the JDSU stock (assuming a stock deal).

That also reduces the competitive threats.

I would also note that companies like NT or lucent are not a threat to JDSU. They have been saying this all along. These are the biggest customers. If either NT or LU set up component building shops to compete with JDSU, they will be limiting their ability to attract customers. I don't think either NT or LU will want to be a customer of one another unless absolutely necessary. That is why i don't believe either will try to compete with JDSU---not to mention the huge barriers to entry.

Just have to ride out this week and look for big moves before the end of next week. Maybe some will jump the gun and start buying this week.
