'Sharesholders of record' has no meaning unless you own fractional shares in which case it is important otherwise anybody who buys shares before the market closes on Dec.01 should have twice as many shares on Dec.02nd . Otherwise who would buy any shares between Nov.12 and Dec.01, think about it. Would you buy any shares between Nov.12-Dec.01 at twice the price only to have it halved on Dec.02,no I didn't think so.
