T.L.C I used to sneer at this application. But I think its starting to get momentum. My understanding was that one could not patent generic items. Otherwise I wud patent my name and anyone using it would have to pay me. I cud go further and patent ALL names in the world. Also Curry has been made in India for hundreds of years. And patents lose their rigths in 18 years. It is ridiculous that the patent dept. has even accepted the application. I remember some time back people trying to patent 'mcdonalds' 'taco bell' and other popular names and they were rejected outright since they were well known names. India thereby actually helped these american companies retain tittle to their names.
