Hickory, as usual a well written post and one that poses
a thoughtful analysis.
However, I must admit, I'm on the other side of the fence
as far as being a UP supporter. After all I've been in two
JVs that they have screwed unmercifully.
With that said, I would just like to comment on your post
where you stated:

price of the stock. In the meantime, many holders are going to get tired of waiting. So I expect there to be more
selling pressure than buying for a long time yet."
My comment is that IMHO UP will not be around in 4 or 5 years-- at least not as a major participant in the GRB. I know this sounds incredulous to shareholders and supporters. It is just my opinion and I mention it with the hope that
some of the small guys will watch with open eyes and not
get skinned alive. Basically my opinion is based on a number
of ongoing lawsuits. I don't know how many suits UP currently is defending itself in. It would be interesting
for the company to actually list the suits, rather than
put them under the heading of without merit and without
basis when asked about them.
