OT to JCJ:

Wow! That's some true life story! It sure sounds as if Bob wasn't all that keen on the mate you picked out for her. If only Bob and Armando could talk you might find out that it was Bob that put Phil up to plucking Armando's whisker then Bob who "innocently" put the idea in Armando's head that the only suitable justice was Phil=snack.

<ggggg> My pet is a BIG, not fat, BIG, sweet faced Norwegian Forest cat. He enjoys lying on a picnic table I have on part of the deck and watching the birds feed at the feeders nearby. If he spots a chipmonk, squirrel, mouse, or rabbit, he's after it. Birds? Maybe my, "Choppers off the birds," lecture made an impact because he rarely has lapses and has never caught one of my "pet" birds, the downy woodpeckers.

A few years ago there was one chickadee that became very friendly, to the point of flying in the house and sitting on my shoulder. If he was around when I was outside gardening, he would come over and keep me company. I named him Peter and kept a dish of water and another, of seed, on my desk for when he came inside to visit.

One of these years I'm going to get a male canary. I baby sat for one for almost a year when I was in grad school and really enjoyed him.
