Here is the heart of the matter. The thread founder and diplomatic promoter of staying focused and reasonably OT, has departed. What shall we do? ... vote on it? ... elect a thread Nazi?

It is possible that this topic that you introduce to every thread you post to might be very appropriate and popular on the Curmudgeons thread where the only OT is rudeness?

Frank is gone (or at least stepped down from his leadership role). I don't want to be rude. I am not the thread enforcer. I have no standing to even suggest this. I realize that you "have never understood why there isn't room for it to be included in discussion from time to time".

I am, however going to ask one more time if you if you would please consider excluding it from discussion on this particular thread. You are already exploiting it on 3 threads that I have bookmarked (JDSU, Coming of Range, and the the e-thread that was "evenly divided about this matter"). This thread is, IMO, wandering a bit and as a consequence sufferring from a bit of bloat.
